We have recently been advised that on 30th September, the decision was taken to close the Yorkshire Libraries and Information Music and Drama Collection and Service as it currently exists.

The loss of this service would be disastrous for drama and play reading groups and will affect many groups in the Guild. Unfortunately we have only a very short timescale to object.

Objections have to be in before 1st November I would urge all Societies and individual members to email their protest to kholliday@wakefield.gov.uk before 1st November.

If you are a user of the service your proposals are welcome but these must be received no later than Wednesday 30th November 2011, in order to be considered at the YLI Council meeting taking place on Monday 12th December 2011.

Please note that your proposals must be sent directly to the Service Manager, Kate Holliday, at the address in the letter and not to the Music & Drama department.
